(2015) PSYK11 20142Department of Psychology
- Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to determine whether the evaluative factor in a person could be connected to a difference in the preferred choice of interview questions. The evaluative factor in this study was defined as a preference for evaluative information and a tendency to describe one self in a social desirable way. 36 interview questions were constructed and divided into three categories: relevant – specific, relevant – abstract and irrelevant – abstract. 100 students took on the roll as recruiters and were asked to read a fictive job advertisement and then rate how likely it was that they would use each interview question on a scale from one to nine. As a final part the participants completed a personality test especially designed to... (More)

As a final part the participants completed a personality test especially designed to measure the evaluative factor. The hypothesis was that the evaluative factor would influence the preference of abstract interview questions. Higher values on the evaluative factor were not related to a stronger preference for abstract interview questions. However a correlation was found between relevant-specific interview questions and those high in the evaluative factor. (Less)
