- Denna uppsats behandlar de två analysmetoderna djävulens advokat och kritiskt tänkande och dess relevans för att undvika partisk analys. Genom en jämförelse av de två metoderna är avsikten att klargöra likheter och skillnader och om det är två olika metoder eller om de inte bara är variationer på samma tema. Vidare är avsikten att beskriva hur väl de två metoderna bidrar till bättre underrättelseanalyser och därmed till ett bättre beslutsunderlag för beslutsfattare. Resultatet är att det finns fog för att påstå att djävulens advokat och kritiskt tänkande är samma metod med olika namn beroende på hur metoden används, kontinuerligt genom hela analysen eller i efterhand när ett preliminärt resultat av analysen föreligger. - This paper deals with the two analytical methods devil's advocate and critical thinking and its relevance to avoid biased analysis. Through a comparison of the two methods its intention is to clarify the similarities and differences, and whether there are two different methods or only variations on the same theme. The purpose is to describe how well the two methods contributes to better intelligence analysis and thus to a better basis for decision-makers. The result is that there is evidence to claim that the devil's advocate and critical thinking is the same method with different names depending on when in analysis the method is used, continuously throughout the analysis or afterwards when the preliminary results of the analysis exists....
