Abstract
The aim of this research was to gain a more nuanced picture of sustainability in furniture retail by investigating how it is handled in a furniture retail chain. The chosen method was setting up a case study on MIO AB, the central organization of a Swedish franchise chain, where data was collected using interviews and observations. The theoretical framework focused on sustainability aspects in the areas of products, logistics, waste and green marketing since these are aspects that can be controlled from a central position in the chain. The results from this research suggest sustainability has a low priority, that customers are not willing to pay more for a sustainable option, and that green marketing is sparsely used. The ability to... (More)
