Gay Christian subjectivities at an inclusive church in Fortaleza, Brazil

Abstract
Based on my fieldwork, this thesis is an ethnography of an inclusive church in Fortaleza, Brazil. Inclusive churches define themselves as churches that welcome LGBT subjects both as adepts and in the church ranks. While most of the inclusive churches existing in Brazil today were created in the country, this ethnographic work focuses on a unique exception the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) in Fortaleza, Brazil. MCC was founded in the United States, in 1968, in the context of the Gay liberation movement and the Stonewall Revolt.
