- Abstract
- Temperature dynamics for a building heated by hot-water radiators are studied in this work. The emphasis has been put on deducting an equation for calculating radiator temperatures and temperature dynamics out of given datas on the construction of the heating system.
Different models for approximation of radiators are compared and the heating effect as a nonlinear function of the temperature is extensively studied. The ratio between heating by radiation and convection is also given.
The program RADTMP is written in FORTRAN and can be used for simulating radiator temperatures in a system with equidistant identical radiators if sufficient data on the heating system are known. A comparison with experimental results proves that... (More)

A comparison with experimental results proves that rather accurate calculations can be made.
The computed temperatures for different parameters are plotted and compared. Without further studies nothing definite can be said about the number of parts a radiator should be divided into in order to give the best approximation by the deducted model, but 3-4 seems to be appropriate for this kind of system.
Finally the problem of calculating room temperatures from radiator temperatures is tackled, but no simple model seems to give accurate enough results.
