Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the health and job satisfaction in Swedish elderly care. The data was collected by doing semi-structured interviews with employees at an elderly care facility in an average sized Swedish city. Participants were chosen randomly, but it was made sure that the balance between formally educated and non-formally educated personnel was nearly equal. The Human Resource-perspective in organization theory was used to analyze the data. The study found that the job satisfaction is low, especially among the staff with no formal education. The staff and the organization are, in the best of situations, depending on each other for the benefit of both. This study shows, however, that the organization in much fails... (More)
