The case study uses interviews with officials along with planning documents from the City of Malmö as the methods for collecting data. By comparing theories, and applying the framework on the case, the study shows that the City of Malmö is planning for social sustainability, as the Right to the City, through public places, social inclusion, mix of functions and social mix. In a further analysis theories regarding social mix shows that the planning might lead to a process of gentrification in areas where additional housing is planned. (Less)
