- Abstract
- The aim with this paper is to investigate how children and youth librarians, the main persons in the selection process, in five public children departments discuss around selection. My ambition is by qualitative interviews and by text analyse (analysis of ideas) find out how librarians relate to the library collection from ethic, moral, censorship and freedom of speech. And also what they think of their motives when selecting literature and how they discuss around the role of the library as a distributer/mediation of literature in relation to its mission. Taljas three approach The general education repertoire, The alternative repertoire and The demand repertoire have been used as a filter to achieve interesting discussions and ideas.
