The paper allows the reader to gain a deeper understanding for management control by observing a process of centralization in a multinational hybrid organization. From the theoretical point of view, the paper shows how a combination of previous research can be applied to a case such as this. By taking findings regarding the “role of the controller”, hybrid organizations, MNCs and accountability and observing how they can shape the environment of MC, we can demonstrate how malleable MC is.
