Abstract
The aim of this qualitative study is to investigate how social workers, working with social welfare, understand the practice and the reasoning for decisions regarding social welfare. I conducted six semi-structured interviews with social workers working with social welfare. For my analysis, I have applied the theoretical perspective of accounts to my interviews.

My findings show me that morals are a big part of working with social welfare. I have also learned that there are two models of work procedures; one model focusing on work and economy and one model focusing on the interaction with clients.
