- Abstract
- The Swedish labor law model has been in place since 1938. According to the model it is the trade unions and employers who regulate the terms of employment by collective agreements. However, the trend has gone towards a labor market with more legislation. In this day there are laws that regulate working hours, working environment, etc. However, Sweden has not introduced a minimum wage in legislation - instead, it is regulated in collective agreements. As Sweden joined the EU, all EU citizens can work in Sweden on the same terms as Swedish citizens. - The Swedish labor law model has been in place since 1938. According to the model it is the trade unions and employers who regulate the terms of employment by collective agreements. However, the trend has gone towards a labor market with more legislation. In this day there are laws that regulate working hours, working environment, etc. However, Sweden has not introduced a minimum wage in legislation - instead, it is regulated in collective agreements. As Sweden joined the EU, all EU citizens can work in Sweden on the same terms as Swedish citizens. In the Laval case, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that the Swedish implementation of the Posting of Workers Directive (with the purpose to guarantee workers performing temporary work within the EU certain rights) was not compatible with EU law. Changes in the Swedish legislation have been made but the question remains; is this the end of the Swedish model? (Less)

- Den svenska arbetsrättsliga modellen har varit gällande sedan 1938. Modellen innebär att det är arbetsmarknadens parter som genom kollektivavtal reglerar arbetarnas villkor. Utvecklingen har dock gått mot en arbetsmarknad som är allt mer lagreglerad. I dagsläget finns det lagar som reglerar arbetstid, arbetsmiljö m.m. Sverige har dock inte infört en minimilön i lagstiftningen, den regleras istället i kollektivavtal.
