- Abstract
- In the beginning of 2017 the parliamentary rural committee handed over their final report with suggestion for a new rural policy. The final report has been described as concrete and containing some radical suggestions. Hence this thesis seeks to examine the political view of the countryside, by review of the final report from 2017 and a final report from 2006 written by two parliamentary rural committees. The review has a special focus on issues concerning education and service which is two out of the many areas which is included in the final reports. Hence this thesis seeks to examine the political view of the countryside, by review of the final report from 2017 and a final report from 2006 written by two parliamentary rural committees. A content analysis is applied to understand the meaning of the description of the countryside and of the problems and suggestion for education and service that in the reports. The result shows that the political view is the same in both of the final reports since the same problems and opportunities are stated for the countryside, it also shows that the problems of service and education is the same. This indicates that the rural policy and the suggestions of measures from 2006 have not managed to reverse the negative development on the countryside. The conclusion of the examination of the new measures from 2017 is that they can contribute to slow down the negative development but not reverse it. (Less)
