- Abstract
- The thesis covers the relatively new area, talent forecasting, and how this work method has become an increasingly important tool in society where the demand for work possibilities increases. This leads to an increased need in knowledge and competence within society as well as in companies. Talent forecasting can be described as a work task with the purpose to predict what's coming, a forecast that can measure performance. The motivation, opportunity and ability, (MOA)-model, aim to explain the underlying factors regarding performance. The purpose with this thesis is to seek insight in the work with talent forecasting, more specific is the intention to investigate what the producers of talent forecasting think about their work activities.... Talent forecasting can be described as a work task with the purpose to predict what's coming, a forecast that can measure performance. The motivation, opportunity and ability, (MOA)-model, aim to explain the underlying factors regarding performance. The purpose with this thesis is to seek insight in the work with talent forecasting, more specific is the intention to investigate what the producers of talent forecasting think about their work activities. This is done via the MOA-model and the factors prediction with their own estimated performance. The method used is a quantitative one and a survey was distributed to the sample. The results show that the participants are quite motivated and somewhat lack opportunity and ability to make the talent forecast. These variables as predictors in a multiple regression shows that motivation is the most contributing factor and opportunity barely contributes at all. (Less)
