The preschool teachers explained that the duty to report is a given part of their profession but that there are some big issues with reporting. The study shows that preschool teachers need more support and feedback from the social services, that the responsibility of having their own name on the report is a burden, that it’s hard to report families that they have a relationship with and that a report to the social services can affect their personal lives. To conclude it appears as the mandatory reporting of maltreated children to the social services needs to be developed and more adjusted for the preschool teachers. (Less)
