- Abstract
- The aim of this study was to analyze how a criminal record affects former criminals self-image and integration on the labor market. The selection consisted of former criminal men in the ages 20-45. We used a qualitative method. The study was based on five individual semi-structured interviews. The empirics was analyzed by using Barlebos theory social constructivism, Goffmans theory Stigma and Howard S. Beckers labeling theory. The study showed that the criminal record had a big impact for formal criminals integration on the labor market. Second, this also affected their self-image in a negative way.
