- The following paper focuses on examining the possible relationship between the status of different member states as net contributors or net benefiters in the European union and the general feeling of influence amongst its citizens. Using panel data, this paper looks at the period
between 2007 and 2017 to investigate if there is a correlation between the contributions made or benefits received and the amount of responders in the Eurobarometer that have stated that “Their voice counts in the EU”. The results of this report, suggests that corrected with fixed effects for the periods in a panel least squares regression we seem to find such a significant correlation.
