Abstract
In this Bachelor thesis Tungelsta, a south Stockholm suburb, is examined regarding its changing landscape, specifically regarding the greenhouses as well as farmland in its southern area. The goal is to find why, how and in what way the landscape of Tungelsta changes. Tungelsta is part of Haninge municipality and was developed by the real estate company Hem på landet AB, already in the first decade of the 1900s. The company was an early form of the trädgårdsstad movement, following the Garden City planning ideal. With theories such as landscape, urban planning as well as power, the sources can be understood and interpreted. The analysis is based on triangulation using three types of sources namely

interviews, field observations and official documents.
The thesis main finding is that the landscape in Tungelsta is changing as farmland is exploited and the remaining greenhouses have an uncertain future. The inhabitants of Tungelsta have the opportunity to participate in planning processes and landowners have certain power if the exploitation is giving something back to the municipality. The municipality of Haninge should take a clear stand of how the
landscape of Tungelsta should be regarded in the future development. (Less)
