Sustainable occupations and health in a life course perspective
Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)

The analysis of the interviewes was done with qualitative content analysis with inductive approach. Result: The result was four main categories: the pupils needs in school, working methods,... (More)

Aim: The aim of the study was to describe the work of occupational therapists in school, as well how this is experienced by occupational therapists and other professions in schools. Method: The study was a qualitative cross-sectional study. Nine semi-structured interviews were conducted with occupational therapists and other school professions. The analysis of the interviewes was done with qualitative content analysis with inductive approach. Result: The result was four main categories: the pupils needs in school, working methods, measures and the impact of the measures on activity and participation.
The study showed that the occupational therapeutic work in school was based on the pupils needs and conditions. The work constituted a combination of mapping in the form of observation, conversations with other professions in school, collaboration with other professions and networks around the student and with a holistic view of the student's activities in all environments. Based on the needs, conditions and goals that existed for the pupil, measures were designed to increase activity and participation in school. Conclusion: Occupational therapists knowledge, actions and approaches were described as being able to contribute to a supplementary profession in school. The work of occupational therapists could contribute to increased understanding of the pupils needs and this could contribute to increased activity and participation for the pupils. (Less)
