Furthermore, each individual social worker confirmed their agreement to participate in the study via email. The conclusion of the study conducted indicated the following: that the social workers experience discretion in their daily work but they felt this is limited by several restrictions. The restrictions identified included municipal guidelines, laws/regulations, and organisational budgetary constraints. There are evident differences in the manner in which individual social workers approach a specific evaluation which can reflect the municipalities managerial objectives and the individuals’ attitude to how they perceive they are required to manage evaluations.
