Pianospel – Det roligaste som finns? En enkätstudie om kulturskoleelevers syn på sin pianoundervisning

Huvuddelen av alla pianoelever slutar spela inom 3 år på kulturskolan. Varför är frånfallet så stort och vad kan man göra för att förhindra det? Tidigare forskning visar bland annat att popmusik är den genre pianoeleverna helst vill spela och att det är viktigt att eleverna känner att de utvecklas och upplever en känsla av kompetens för att vilja fortsätta spela. Att spela ett instrument kommer också långt ner på listan bland andra fritidsaktiviteter. Tidigare forskning visar bland annat att popmusik är den genre pianoeleverna helst vill spela och att det är viktigt att eleverna känner att de utvecklas och upplever en känsla av kompetens för att vilja fortsätta spela. Att spela ett instrument kommer också långt ner på listan bland andra fritidsaktiviteter. Syftet med denna studie är att med hjälp av en kvantitativ enkätundersökning utskickad via e-post och gjord på 44 pianoelever på Kulturskolan i Malmö, undersöka elevernas vanor och syn på pianospel och vad de själva vill se för undervisning. Kvalitativ metod och strukturerad intervju har också undersökts i metoddelen och intervju respektive observation omnämns också. Dessa metoder har dock valts bort utifrån vad jag vill undersöka. Hur högt värderar pianoeleverna sitt pianospel? Vilket lektionsinnehåll vill eleverna själva helst se? Och hur ska den moderna pianoläraren gå till väga för att motivera dagens pianoelever där en rad olika aktiviteter tävlar om deras intresse? Detta är de huvudfrågor jag undersöker i detta arbete. Resultatet visar att pianospel är väldigt lågt prioriterat hos eleverna fast de flesta tycker att det är roligt, eleverna vill i första hand spela popmusik, är försiktigt positiva till digitala prylar och vill ha gruppundervisning eller enskild undervisning. Spela på konsert och digitala prylar kan vara motivationshöjare men eleverna saknar övningsstrategier vilket också kan leda till brist på upplevd självkompetens och sänka motivationen. (Less)

Playing an instrument also comes far down on the list among other leisure activities. Previous research shows, among other things, that pop music is the genre piano students preferably want to play and that it is important that students feel that they develop and experience a sense of competence to want to continue playing. Playing an instrument also comes far down on the list among other leisure activities. Qualitative method and structured interview have also been examined in the method section and interview and observation are also mentioned. However, these methods have been rejected based on what I want to investigate. How high does the piano students value their piano playing? What lesson content do students want to see? And how should the modern piano teacher go about motivating today's piano students where a variety of activities compete for their interest? These are the main issues I am investigating in this work. The result shows that piano playing has very low priority among the pupils although most of them think it is fun, the pupils want to primarily play pop music, are cautiously positive to digital gadgets and want to have group tuition or individual teaching. Playing at concert and digital gadgets can be motivational boosters but students lack practice strategies which can also lead to lack of perceived self-competence and lower motivation. (Less)
