- Abstract
- My thesis was initiated in a face where I had a chosen site which I feel both love and hate towards. This paradox motivated me to form a future plan for this place.
The love I feel lays in a form of projected memory of a place which today not feels more then just an abandoned place. In a landscape, approximately 70 meters from the water in a seaside village in the south of Skåne, the old restaurant of Pärlan stands empty. With a location which since the 1930s have formed a point of connection for both inhabitants and guests of Beddingestrand and villages close by. I have chosen to begin with the building that stands today, a traditional brick characterized building from the 1950s.

The analysis have later on been used as a basis for the design of the future ocean meeting point of Beddingestrand. - Mitt examensarbete påbörjades i en fas där jag valt en plats som jag känner en viss hatkärlek gentemot. En hatkärlek som gett mig energi till att skapa min vision.
Kärleken ligger i en slags projicerad minnesbild av en plats som idag inte är mycket mer än bara en plats. I ett landskap, cirka 70 meter från vattenbrynet i en badort på Skånes sydkust, står restaurang Pärlan övergiven. En plats som från 30-talet varit en knutpunkt för både boende och gäster i orten Beddingestrand och dess intilliggande grannorter. Jag har därför valt att utgå ifrån byggnaden som står på platsen idag, en 50-talsbyggnad med en traditionell karaktär och en i området välkänd historia.
