- Abstract
- Jönköping city has big ambitions for its future, and they hope that the city can grow with the new highspeed railway. To manage all the new citizens and make up for the communal and transport political goals they need to expand their community rides. Today’s bus line 1, which is the most trafficked line in Jönköping, need a reroute to include the new station for the highspeed trains which will be located south of Munksjön. The new line will be bad for some citizens but overall it will be better for the city. There are two relevant solutions on the traffic which is a BRT-system and a railroad, but the question is which on is the best? Today’s bus line 1, which is the most trafficked line in Jönköping, need a reroute to include the new station for the highspeed trains which will be located south of Munksjön. The new line will be bad for some citizens but overall it will be better for the city. The railroad is a more complicated build, it takes some years to complete and it will cost a lot. The investment in a railroad is very high but well in place it is better and more attractive than the BRT-system. A big difference between the two systems is that the railroad has more capacity and longer lifespan than the BRT-system. The railroad effects the city in a good way and people tends to pay more to live close to a rail station which improve the price of the land. Railroad is a better alternative in the end but if the city needs a fast solution the BRT could be better. (Less)

För att klara av nya invånare och uppnå de kommunala och transportpolitiska målen behöver kollektivtrafiken byggas ut. Den nuvarande busslinje 1 som är den mest trafikerade linjen i Jönköping idag behöver dras om vid vissa delar för att inkludera den nya höghastighetsstationen som ska lokaliseras söder om Munksjön. BRT är en utveckling av det redan existerande bussystemet som existerar idag vilket leder till en mindre investering och kortare byggtid. Spårvägen är en mer komplicerad utbyggnad som tar några år att genomföra och kräver betydligt mer resurser. Investeringskostnaden i projektet blir hög men när den väl är på plats fungerar det till största del bättre och är mer attraktivt än ett BRT-system. En stor skillnaderna mellan BRT och spårväg är att spårvägen har en högre kapacitet eftersom vagnarna rymmer fler resenärer och den längre livslängden leder till mindre kostnader för underhåll av fordon. Spårvägen bidrar till en bra stadsutveckling för att invånare i staden värdesätter att bosätta sig nära spårvägen vilket leder till markvärdet ökar. I slutändan är spårvägen det bättre alternativet men är staden i behov av en snabb lösning skulle ett BRT-system fungera bättre. (Less)
