- Abstract (Swedish)

(Less) - Abstract
- The study aims to contribute to a nuanced perspective of crisis communication as a complex phenomenon by examining the dynamics of a double crisis from a multivocal perspective. The research questions are centered around how the dynamics between the most prominent voices in a double crisis appear and what implications a double crisis can have on an authority's trust. The study is based on a hermeneutic, social constructionist perspective and examines a post on an authority's Facebook page through a qualitative text analysis. The thesis assumes an integrated theoretical framework of Rhetorical Arena Theory and Framing Theory. Thus, the analysis consists of a macro- and a micro analysis.

The macro analysis illustrates themes and interaction patterns in crisis communication and establishes the authority's crisis communication as paradoxical. The microanalytical observations reveal different interpretive frameworks and that the double crisis consists of a double standard. Overall, the analysis shows an incongruity between the interpretive frameworks of the prominent voices and that the dynamics between these are predominantly characterized by a conflict of interest. The analysis indicates that a failure
to take multivocal perspectives into account can limit an authority's crisis communication and have implications on public trust. (Less)
