Abstract
The aim of this qualitative study was to examine how studying through remote learning during the Covid-19 pandemic could be like. In analyzing our results, we applied the dramaturgy theory by Erving Goffman, Herbert Blumer's symbolic interactionism and Georg Simmel's loneliness theory. The study found that the boundaries between home and school had been blurred, which affected the high school students in different ways. Moreover, the study also found that the high school students, due to remote learning and not seeing each other physically to the same extent, had had to find alternative ways of communicating. Lastly, the study found that more high school students felt lonely now than they did before the pandemic, according to most of the school counselors. However, the feeling of loneliness among the high school students who felt lonely before the pandemic started, had not increased. (Less)
