- Abstract (Swedish)
- The Swedish government submitted proposal 2007/08: 95 to the Parliament (Riksdagen) in 2007. The proposal contains the main ideas and pricipals of Sweden's first cohesive discrimination law. This thesis makes use of the method described by Carole Bacchi in her work ”What's the problem represented to be?”. Her method derives from the discursive analysis of gender and thereby conforms to accepted theories of social constructionism. The focus areas of the thesis have mainly been to examine the motivations and aims of proposal 2007/08: 95 in its categorization of gender and ethnicity. The conclusion shows that there are problems within the proposal and the one-sided thinking surrounding the categorizing of individuals based on different grounds of discrimination. In order to be able to create a more comprehensive and effective legislation, an intersectional analysis could create a larger inclusion scale than exclusion scale. (Less)
