Linking back to sociological research, this case study aims to examine the relationship between education and the planning outcome. It does so by examining two public consultation protocols, originating from two planned densification projects in the town of Malmö, Sweden. The study shows that planners consider fewer suggestions by residents as relevant in the consultation process, in the areas where residents have low educational background. However, no conclusions could be drawn as to why that is. The study's results raise questions about the relationship between residents' knowledge and the outcome of deliberative planning. (Less)
