Examples of such features include geometric shapes imposed on the landscape, plantation-like farms with worker’s lodgings on display, and the manipulation of lines of sight in order to emphasise impressions of largeness or exclusivity. The conclusion is thus that ideology significantly influenced the landscape around Torup, and that such perspectives are crucial in order to obtain a more complete understanding of landscapes, but that they must be combined with economic and functionalist perspectives.
