The Effect of Zero Trust Model on Organizations
(2023) INFM10 20231Department of Informatics
- Abstract
- The increase in cyber threats has prompted organizations to adopt more robust cybersecurity frameworks, such as the Zero Trust model. This study investigates the effects of implementing the Zero Trust model on organizations. Based on qualitative analysis of expert views, it finds that Zero Trust enhances an organization's security posture, despite requiring significant changes in user habits and causing disruptions in workflow due to increased authentication and security measures. However, the benefits, including minimizing attack surface, reduced risk of security breaches, and heightened resilience against cyber threats, outweigh these challenges. The research also identifies the potential of integrating artificial intelligence and big... (More)
- The increase in cyber threats has prompted organizations to adopt more robust cybersecurity frameworks, such as the Zero Trust model. The research also identifies the potential of integrating artificial intelligence and big data with the Zero Trust model, which could further improve the accuracy of threat prediction and informed security decision-making. Overall, this study underlines the transformative influence of the Zero Trust model on organizations, suggesting its vital role in fostering a secure, resilient future amidst an evolving cybersecurity landscape. However, it highlights the need for thoughtful implementation to balance security enhancements and user experience. Future research is recommended to explore the practical aspects of integrating AI and big data into the Zero Trust model. (Less)
