- Abstract
- The rapid climate changes that are now occurring are linked by most climate scientists to increased levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, something the construction industry is a strong contributor to. The construction industry also generates a lot of waste. A simple way to quickly reduce the climate impact from the construction industry can be to reduce the amount of waste. The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate what opportunities a structural engineer has to prevent waste in a construction project. The study shows that it is possible to minimize the amount of waste generated and that the building's climate impact can be reduced through waste minimisation. The study also shows that it is theoretically possible to... (More)

(Less)
