- Abstract
- Recently, the media has brought attention to the Adam case, a young boy who was taken into compulsory care by social services in Helsingborg amid false allegations from his mother and other parties. This study aims to analyze how the media frames social services, in this case, and how different parts are given voice in the media coverage. A qualitative content analysis was performed on news articles from the local newspaper Helsingborgs Dagblad. The results show that the media repeatedly frames social services negatively, often portraying them as avoiding responsibility for their actions and being offenders.
