Camshaft Efficiency Optimization : Employing the Rolling Bearing
(2013) ASME 2012 International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition p.141-149- Abstract
- This paper is intended to discuss the optimization of camshaft efficiency; using the rolling bearing instead of the sliding bearing within the internal combustion engines. The advantages and disadvantages of employing this new method will be accordingly identified and determined in-order to open new windows to the vehicle manufacturing industry. Following the mentioned goal; a camshaft is designed and tested over two types of sliding and rolling bearings in the same conditions of testing. After the comparisons being made; the achieved records have been analyzed and finally the results have been concluded and discriminated by the tables. The calculations and analyses; which are reachable within this paper, are implemented by employing both... (More)
