Abstract
The article summarizes the book In Search of Andros, a volume that situates the island within the wider tradition of Eastern Mediterranean travel literature from the Renaissance to the early twentieth century. Motivated by interests in antiquity, science, religion, geography, and culture, travelers left behind texts, maps, and images that today constitute vital historical sources. The book presents translated and annotated accounts by over seventy travelers, drawn from the Finopoulos Collection at the Benaki Museum and edited by Dr. Maria Yiouroukou.
