Abstract

Ultra-wideband (UWB) is a short-distance radio communication technology that allows wireless networking inside the digital office and home with reliably high data rates across multiple devices [1]. However, some narrowband communication systems have existed in the UWB band, such as WiMAX (worldwide interoperability for microwave access) at 3.6 GHz, WLAN (wireless local area network) at 5.2 GHz, and X-band for satellite communication systems. In order to minimize the effect of interferences between the UWB systems and narrowband systems, a great number of UWB antennas with filtering characteristics and having a notch band have been used [2]. Integration of filters with antennas plays an important role in designing of notch band UWB... (More)

Integration of filters with antennas plays an important role in designing of notch band UWB filtering antenna. In this chapter, a survey of UWB filtering antenna and UWB filtering antenna with notch band characteristics is presented.
