Valence band ARPES study of La1-xSrxMnO3 single crystals

Abstract
We have observed a feature at similar to2.5 eV binding energy (BE) in the valence band of La1-xSrxMnO3 single crystals not previously reported in the literature. The relative intensity of this feature decreases with increasing Sr concentration x and has a strong photon energy dependence. It also exhibits a complicated angle dependence. In this report we present a full set of angular-resolved photoemission spectra performed on (100) La1-xSrxMnO3 single crystals. The shape of the valence band has a strong dependence on emission and incident angles. In particular, at hupsilon = 130 eV the intensity of the 2.5 eV BE feature increases when the emission angle changes from 0 to 20degrees, and then sharply drops. The shape of the valence band...
