Comparison of potential-energy surfaces and moments of inertia with experimental spectroscopic trends for non-spherical Z = 50-82 nuclei
(1974) In Nuclear Physics, Section A 233(2). p.329-356- Abstract
A broad discussion of the ground-state potential-energy surfaces of doubly even deformed and transitional nuclei with Z = 50-82 is presented. The surfaces are calculated microscopically as functions of the quadrupole axial ε and non-axial γ and the axial hexadecapole ε4 deformations. A correlation between the form of the surfaces and the experimental spectroscopic trends is extensively discussed. Comparisons are made with the experimental data including the ground-state band 2+, 4+ and 6+ energy levels, the quasi-gamma band heads, 2'+ and the quasi-beta band heads, 0'+. Some general correlation is found although for more detailed comparisons a need of dynamics becomes... (More)

Some general correlation is found although for more detailed comparisons a need of dynamics becomes evident. In addition, the electric quadrupole moments and moments of inertia of the nuclei are discussed.
