Abstract
The role of implantable neuromodulation systems and spinal cord stimulation in the management of pain is described. Recommendations of the American Society of Anesthesiologists Task Force on Chronic Pain Management and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine as they relate to spinal cord stimulation are discussed.
