A general model for calculating pressure drop in siphons and siphon riser tubes. Part 2: Experimental results
(1991) In Tappi Journal 74(12). p.157-162- Abstract
- A general model for pressure drop calculations in siphons and riser tubes has been developed. The model takes into account different physical flow phenomena such as the inlet pressure drop and the pressure drop in the tube. For each phenomenon, we applied theory and established correlations to calculate the separate accelerational, frictional, gravitational, and centrifugal pressure drops. Model results agree closely with experimental data for the flow of air and water, without the need to fit any empirical constants. The minimum in the pressure drop curve is accurately predicted.
