Who creates jobs and who creates productivity? Small versus large versus young versus old

Heyman, Fredrik LU ; Norbäck, Pehr Johan and Persson, Lars LU (2018) In Economics Letters 164. p.50-57
Abstract

We propose a new method to analyze employment and productivity dynamics in a consistent way. Using Swedish data we find that net jobs were mainly created in young, small firms and productivity gains were mainly created in large old firms.
