A multi layer meander line circular polarization selective structure (MLML-CPSS)
(2014) 8th European Conference on antennas and Propagation (EuCAP), 2014 p.464-468- Abstract
- A circular polarization selective structure (CPSS) reflects one handedness of circular polarization and transmits the other. We present a new multilayer structure with significantly improved bandwidth compared to classical solutions, which are typically based on resonant structures. The proposed structure consists of layers of printed metal meander lines interspaced by low-permittivity rigid foams. Simulation results for a five layer design are given, demonstrating return loss and insertion loss less than 0.5 dB and axial ratio less than 0.75dB over the entire Ku-band (12-18 GHz, 40% fractional bandwidth), for 0-20 degrees angle of incidence.
