- Bread is the main food source that cuts horizontally across historical, social, cultural and economic areas. Bread is produced and consumed in the context of economic, political and social relations throughout human history. The factors affecting the production of bread are discussed. The political economy of the public bread practice, which is produced and distributed by the municipalities, is studied. Firstly, it was concluded that the production and consumption of bread, which is the staple food of the city, has been under the control and control of the central and local administrations throughout history. Second, it was noted that the price and tariffs of bread produced in the city are under the control of central and local authorities. It is stated that the central government has increased its role in determining the price of bread in recent years, and that new actor and processes have been started in determining the price of bread. Thirdly, it was argued that as a requirement of the producer and regulatory urban policies of the municipalities, they undertake a function of breaking the urban rent and balancing the market. However, it was concluded that this function is an unfair competitive practice for local bread producers. (Less)
