- Aiming to start a constructive debate,“A tour to sustainability?” examines the preparedness of the tour operating sector to undertake the challenges of sustainable tourism. Drivers and barriers for acknowledging operators’ share of impacts and consequently their responsibilities for actions are presented and analysed further. The influential potential of tour operators in tourism industry is defined by their unique central position in the distribution chain,connecting the supply and demand sides of the tourism market.
