About 90 % of the male students report that they hardly ever feel worried when they walk home alone at night. 41 % of the students state that they sometimes are afraid of crimes. The majority of these students are female. The women state that they are afraid of being raped whilst the men report being afraid of assault. 35 % of the students have been victims of crime. Most of these students report theft. 36 % of these young men and women have been threatened and 24 % of them have been assaulted. The majority in both cases is men. 55 % of the victimized students did not report the incident to the police. The two main accounts for not doing this are the two following; ”it was only a minor crime” and ”the police cannot do anything anyway”. (Less)
