Abstract


The time-dependent electronic structure of Eu:SrGa
2
S
4
after excitation by a femtosecond laser pulse is investigated by time-resolved x-ray absorption spectroscopy. We observe a transient shift in the Eu L
3
edge consistent with Eu ionization.
