Ryssland och moderniseringsprojektet. Från Peter till Putin – en tragisk historia

Gerner, Kristian LU (2005) In Karolinska Förbundets Årsbok None(None). p.106-108
Abstract
The Russian modernisation as a conscious policy started with Peter I. It was resumed time after time by a succession of Russian rulers, from Catherine II to Mikhail Gorbachev. The article places this story in the context of historical culture and narration. The paper is not about any history as such. It is a suggestion how to make sense of one dimension of Russia’s history: the St. Petersburg story.
