As an interdisciplinary academic, with a varied experience of working across different subjects, Iammarino’s contributions are quite wide-ranging and branch into economic and management fields as well as economic geography narrowly defined. Her work has made major contributions to our understanding of various topics at the core of economic geography, including: multinational corporations, regional development trajectories, university–industry collaborations and innovation dynamics, to name a few. By blending the author’s reading of her collected work with insights gained from interviews with close collaborators and PhD students, this chapter paints a picture of her contribution to the academic development of economic geography, but also to the social fabric of the discipline.
