- The conference series European Conference on Scientific Publishing in Biomedicine and Medicine (ECSP) was originated at the Faculty of Medicine, Lund University, Sweden and was for the first time launched in Lund in 2006. The mission to be highly relevant for researchers was retained at the second meeting, hosted by University of Oslo, Library of Medicine and Health Sciences. The meeting focused on two main areas, Open Access – what it is and why it is necessary and how to achieve it, and the assessment of research. The workshop programme covered many practical aspects including the use of biomedical databases, writing a scientific article, and the peer- review process.
