Activist organizing: A world in the making for the new to be born

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the ‘normality’ of our everyday lives, but it did so in the wake of a series of crises within the capitalist system, which worsened the conditions for a liveable world for many while benefitting only a few. In response to these crises, the contributions in this issue highlight the diverse ways activists continue to organise in the midst of social, political, and economic chaos. These efforts attempt to contest capitalism’s power at the same time as seeking to imagine, create, and reshape alternatives to the dominant model.
