Lyngsjö och de gyllene altarna

Wienberg, Jes LU orcid (2020) In ALE 2020(4). p.42-47
Abstract
The article presents a supplement to two earlier texts in the periodical Ale 2020: 2–3 on Lyngsjö in Scania. Elisabeth Reuterswärd here seeks the background for the unusual motif of the baptismal font, where Sten Skansjö tries to explain the development in the parish over time. The present article draws attention to the fact that the font has traces of painting, comments on the upper gallery of the church, corrects information on the number of golden altars in the Nordic countries, argues that the altars have not been moved, as many have claimed, and pinpoint that the preservation of an altar in Lyngsjö just strengthens the theses by Skansjö on an economic downturn. Finally, it is noted that according to an as yet unpublished source,... (More)
