Semiotics, psychotherapy and Levinas’s ethics of “The Other”

Cabak Rédei, Anna LU orcid (2023) 4. p.277-290
Abstract
The aim of this chapter is to show how insights from semiotics can
contribute to psychotherapy, notably the one inspired by Emmanuel Levinas’s
ethics of the other. Important to this undertaking are Augusto Ponzio’s
semiotic analyses of the ethics of Levinas. Moreover, a study of the Peircean
notion of abduction has proved to be fruitful in the further understanding of
how psychotherapy can benefit from semiotics.
