This research aims to identify elements of continuity and change over time, providing a more nuanced understanding of the historical development of local communities in Tarraco's hinterland. The findings suggest that changes in occupation patterns occurring during this period were likely influenced by the same transformations occurring at a Mediterranean-wide scale and which are generally associated with the Augustan Revolution. By using a local scale of analysis, this study contributes to the understanding of the impact of Empire-wide cultural and political dynamics on provincial communities and their integration into the Roman Empire.
